Homework will usually be given out each Monday to return by Friday when the children will be tested. This term, we will look at the spelling patterns suggested for Year 5/6 children with homework taking the form of LaCaWaC sheets or investigations. Some of us may still focus on phonetic patterns and consolidation of Year 3/4 patterns.
If you'd like some games and activities to help you when practising your spellings, take a look at http://www.spellzone.com/games/index.cfm or http://www.galacticphonics.com/letter/letter.htm
where you will find lots of ideas to make spelling a little more interactive and a lot more fun!
For those that want to get a head start with their learning, please see the below word lists taken from the National Curriculum. This year the Scartho Spelling Bee will take place at the end of the Spring term and words from these lists will be used in the competition. Jacob was the year group champ last year, will he keep his title?
