It is very important the children can try to leave year four knowing times table facts up to at least 10 times tables. They should practise regularly and learn so they know fact randomly and the equivalent division fact.
As an example if you shouted 6 X 3 = could they say 18 within four seconds? If they have to count 1x3 is 3,
2x3 is 6 and so on then they do not know quickly enough mentally.
Use grids to learn and online games to help practise in fun ways. Please encourage the children to work at it patiently.
I have included to good times tables games in the useful website section!
