The children should know what spelling group they are in. Every week on a Tuesday morning, in school, they copy out their spellings on a look/cover/write/check sheet. At home they use the sheet to practice and create a set of spelling sentences using at least 6 of their spellings.
Example - If in blue group one spelling sentence might be;
My father is one of only a few master butchers in the country, he was trained and worked for 'John Pettits' in the sixties.
Please use a pencil and return on a piece of paper, your blue/red home spelling books or in your own notebook by the Friday of every week! Don't forget punctuation of sentences and good handwriting.
